On Friday, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his friends Samuel Ortom of Benue State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State left for London, United Kingdom.
Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, who is now on holiday abroad, is anticipated to join them.
There were rumours that the governors would meet with Bola Tinubu, the APC's presidential candidate, in London, but this could not be confirmed because the former governor of Lagos State was still in Nigeria as of Friday night.
A source who confirmed the governors' journey said: "Governors Wike, Ikpeazu, and Ortom have travelled to the UK for another round of discussions and horse trading for the 2023 elections.
They left on Friday, and they have another round of talks with important players planned.
The travel was confirmed by a second person who is close to one of the governors.
When reached, Taiwo Adisa, the governor of Oyo State's chief press secretary, denied knowing about the meeting but stated that Makinde was still on vacation there and would be coming home this weekend.
This is taking place as the PDP crisis has gotten worse over Wike's demand for Iyorchia Ayu, the party's national chairman, to resign.
The governor is pushing for Ayu's dismissal because to his alleged involvement in Atiku Abubakar's selection as the PDP's presidential candidate.
With regard to the selection of his running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Wike has been at odds with the presidential candidate of his party.
APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu, House Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, Aliyu Wamakko, Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, and the governors of Lagos and Ondo states, Rotimi Akeredolu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among others, were among those he previously met with.
