The Osun State Police Command has started an inquiry into the events leading up to the death of Victor Olonade, a 19-year-old undergraduate who purportedly committed himself at his father's house in the state's Ilesa region.
The teenager's lifeless body was discovered hanging in one of the rooms in his father's residence on Saturday, according to a statement released on Sunday by the state police public relations officer, Yemisi Opalola.
Following the finding, according to Opalola, the police were informed, and police officers assigned to the scene of the incident found the body.
The PPRO reported that after examination, the body showed no evidence of violence, and that it had been buried in a morgue.
Part of the statement said, "Victor Olonade, 19, a student at Ipetu Ijesa College of Technology in Osun State, was found dead by hanging in a complex with telephone cable around 2.30 p.m. on Saturday, according to Agboola Olusola of 049 Isokun Street, Ilesa.
"The crime scene was inspected, but the body bore no signs of violence. The Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa received the body for burial. The situation is currently being looked into.
