At a lengthy ceremony on Saturday at St. James' Palace in London, Charles III took an oath and was formally crowned.
The Accession Council made a formal announcement about his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Charles III was subsequently proclaimed king.
Before the paperwork were signed, the 200 or so persons present in the chamber collectively prayed, "God preserve the King."
According to the BBC, flags that were lowered in honor of the late Queen will briefly fly at full mast.
Recall that in his inaugural speech to the country yesterday, the King vowed to emulate the life of devotion of his "darling mama."
The Queen, the monarch with the longest reign in the UK, passed away quietly on Thursday afternoon at Balmoral Castle. She was 96 years old.
