RISK OF LOSS OF LIFE IN A CAR CRASH
At 6:35 p.m. this evening, locals from the First Pump neighbourhood in Akabo Ikeduru along the Owerri-Okigwe Expressway avoided a tragic collision.
The Mack Tipper was travelling at a high pace from the Owerri axis of the road when it abruptly lost control and crashed into surrounding businesses at the busy first pump bus stop, according to shop owners in the neighbourhood.
Astonished adolescents from the neighbourhood expressed their outrage at the driver's attitude, whom they claimed was smoking while driving at full speed, while recounting the story to DE KINGMAKER of MYRADIO 101.1 FM Owerri who came at the site of the nearly enormous damage.
They explained the car accident as being caused by the driver's smoking.
Youths from the neighbourhood, who begged to remain anonymous, vented their rage at how they might have lost loved ones due to careless driving and reassured De KINGMAKER that the car would only be taken away once the rough driver would have admitted that his smoking while driving was what caused the near-death experience.
They questioned why motorists would disregard caution when travelling the Akabo Ikeduru section of the road. They demanded that any car that crashes in the vicinity face harsher sanctions from the appropriate authorities.
Women in the neighbourhood who preferred to remain anonymous thanked God that no lives were lost.
