Isuikwuato Council Of Traditional Rulers Honours Prof. Uche Ikonne, With A Chieftaincy Title 


The Governorship candidate of the PDP in Abia State Prof. Eleazar Uche Ikonne, was on Saturday conferred with the chieftaincy title of "Ohia Di Uru 1 of Isuikwuato by Isuikwuato Council Of Traditional Rulers" 

The conferment was done by all the traditional rulers in Isuikwuato in the palace of His Royal Highness Eze Ezo Ukandu, the Enyi Na Obiangwu of Isuikwuato, former Chairman Traditional Rulers Council, Abia state, and Chairman Isuikwuato Council of Traditional Rulers.

At the ceremony, the traditional rulers said, the honour was in recognition of his immense contributions to human capital and the educational development of the people and indigenes of Isuikwuato, stating that the history of Isuikwuato will not be complete without the mention of Prof. Uche Ikonne, the royal fathers gave him their blessings and promised to give him their full support over his ambition to becoming the governor of Abia state.

Prof. Ikonne in his response thanked the royal fathers for the great honour and told the story of his relationship with the people of Isuikwuato especially HRH Eze Ezo Ukandu and how they assisted him to succeed as the Vice-Chancellor of ABSU.

He promised to even deepen the relationship if he is elected governor of the state by ensuring greater development of Isuikwuato and every part of the state. he also promised to affect the lives of the people in a positive way through his inclusive developmental agenda. 

Dignitaries who graced the event include the Director-General of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Barrister Chinedum Elechi, Chief Chris Odinaka Igwe (Chrisnak), Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) Hon. Okey Igwe, Barr. Hagler Okorie, Chief Chile Sam Ogechi, Chief Emma Ibegbulem, Chief Lucky Johnson, prominent sons and daughters of Isuikwuato political stakeholders' and  opinion moulders from Isuikwuato and beyond.
